What is YourParts?
YourParts is an online 3D printing service operated by Andreas Ebner — DeFactory in Ettlingen, Germany. You upload an STL file, orient it on a virtual build plate in your browser, pick a material, colour and layer height, and the price updates live as you configure. There is no quote-by-email step.
Which file formats can I upload?
STL (binary), STL (ASCII). The file is parsed in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server while you are configuring — the geometry only leaves your machine when you place an order.
Which materials and processes are available?
6 materials across 2 processes. FDM (fused filament): PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU. SLA resin: High Temp Resin. Prices run from €0.08 to €0.75 per gram of finished part.
How is the price calculated?
Material by weight (part volume × material density × price per gram, adjusted for infill), plus machine time derived from volume and layer height, plus a complexity component measured from the geometry itself — how much of the surface overhangs far enough to need support, and how thin and intricate the shape is. The setup fee (€1.50 for FDM, €3.00 for SLA) is charged once per part in an order, however many copies you order, and identical copies are discounted in steps. Heavier parts cost less per gram. A minimum order value of €5.00 applies to the goods total. Multicolour and finishing are added per part. The full formula is documented on the pricing page.
How large can a printed part be?
FDM parts fit a build volume of 215 × 215 × 215 mm; SLA parts fit 145 × 145 × 175 mm. The configurator checks the oriented part against these limits before you can order.
What tolerances and design limits apply?
FDM holds about ±0.25 mm with a minimum wall of 1.2 mm, a minimum hole diameter of 1.5 mm and unsupported overhangs up to 45° from vertical. SLA holds about ±0.10 mm with a minimum wall of 0.4 mm. Layer heights range from 0.03 mm to 0.28 mm. Every uploaded part is scanned against these thresholds in the browser and blocking issues stop the order.
Can a single part be printed in more than one colour?
Yes, on most FDM filaments. You paint individual faces of the model in the configurator, up to 6 colours per part, for €1.20 per colour beyond the first. Flexible (TPU) and nylon parts are printed in one colour — neither swaps cleanly enough for a sharp boundary — and SLA resin has no multi-colour process at all. The material picker offers the option wherever it applies.
How long does production and delivery take?
Production is typically 5–7 working days from receipt of payment, plus carrier transit time. An estimated delivery window is shown at checkout.
What does shipping cost?
A flat €4.95 within the shipping area, free on orders of €49.00 or more.
Is VAT charged?
No. The operator is a small business under §19 UStG (Kleinunternehmerregelung), so sales are exempt from VAT and no VAT is stated on the invoice. Prices shown are the final prices.
Where are the parts printed?
In the operator's own facility in Ettlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Orders currently ship only within Germany.
Can I cancel an order?
Custom-made parts are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal under §312g(2)(1) BGB, but you can cancel free of charge at any time before production starts by emailing contact@defactory.eu with your order number. Payments already made are refunded in full.
